THE TOP FLOOR
A corporate-themed detective mystery game for a group of 6–8 people

December 26th, an office on the twelfth floor. They decided to keep the company party in-house: food was ordered, tables were pushed together, and the whole team—eight people—gathered.

At 8:30 PM, the CEO leaves the conference room for the kitchen. He leaves his laptop open and unlocked—as he always does.

At 8:41 PM, an email is sent from his account. It goes to all employees and both investors, with three industry publications copied in. By 10:00 PM, the buyer has put the deal on hold.

NO ONE DIES

The investigation relies on Wi-Fi logs, access card data, and call records—no blood, no grimness. It’s a great fit for teams that enjoy digging into the details.

WHAT’S INSIDE

8 roles, each with a distinct personality, motives, and personal secrets (6 mandatory roles plus 2 for larger groups)
12 clues revealed by the game host over the course of three rounds
A ready-made script for the host: what to say, when to reveal a clue, and what to ask if the conversation stalls
A two-page resolution—designed to be read aloud like the finale of a detective story
Printable version: role cards and clues on separate sheets

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open the file—it works in any browser, on a phone or a laptop.
2. Select the number of players.
3. Pass the device around—each player reads their role in private.
4. Follow the evening’s flow on the screen: three rounds, a vote, and the resolution.

No installation required. No internet connection needed.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SCENARIOS

The case actually gets solved. Alibis are cross-referenced down to the minute; each suspect has a specific window of time, and the culprit is identified through a series of logical steps rather than guesswork. An attentive player can deduce the truth, while the player acting as the culprit can successfully deflect suspicion.

A red herring is built right in: one of the innocent characters has a gap in their alibi, making them the likely target of accusations—almost every time.

FORMAT

A single HTML file. It opens with a double-click in Chrome, Safari, or Yandex Browser, and works on Android and iPhone. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux alike. You can play as many times as you like.

Age rating: 16+ (mature themes, but no graphic violence or gore).
Thanks for your purchase!

Save the file and double-click to open it—it will launch in your browser. It works offline, and you can play as many times as you like.

A tip for the host: read the "How it Works" screen before your guests arrive—it takes about four minutes to read. Also, hand out paper and pens to everyone; half the fun is writing down what people say and catching them in contradictions.

If the file doesn´t open or anything is unclear, please message me via the order chat, and I’ll get back to you.
